Sarada Vilas Law College, one of the professional colleges working under the aegis of Sarada Vilas Educational Institutions (R.) was established in 1954. Founded by Prof. Sampige Venkatapathaiah an educationist, freedom fighter, and advocate who served as the first principal of the college. Since then, the college has made significant contributions to legal education and has produced numerous legal luminaries. The college initially offered F.L.and B.L.Courses, which were later replaced by the LL.B degree Course. In 1988, the Karnataka State Government granted grant-in-aid status to the 3-year LL.B degree course. Currently, the college is affiliated to Karnataka State Law University.
